This is Why Beauty Care Is Important

When you feel good, your whole world changes. Your mind is awake, and your focus is sharp. Beauty care inside and out, helps you put your best face forward and gets you going in the right direction so you can conquer the day.

Beauty care is important because that’s your way of fighting everything from wrinkles to the free radicals that age your skin. When you take care of your skin from the inside and on the outside, it shows people the confidence you have inside.

It isn’t all about how you look; it’s about how you feel as well. When your skin is energized and healthy-looking, you feel confident and radiant. Let’s take a look at how good skin care can give you that extra boost you need to make it through each day.

Why Beauty Care is Important

Your skin covers 95% of your body. It is your biggest organ. Healthy skin doesn’t just look good. It is a reflection of your overall health. Beauty care is important because it keeps you feeling as good on the inside as you look on the outside.

Skin care is how you keep your skin healthy. You brush your teeth. You exercise. You eat the right foods. Why not show a little love and attention to the biggest organ on your body?

Your skin is porous. It absorbs everything like a sponge. It is exposed to a lot of free radicals during the day. The chemistry behind free radicals is really much more complicated, but basically, they are unstable atoms that float around in our environment and cause among other things, our appearance to age.

To fight these awful little atoms, skincare products contain things like antioxidants and adaptogens. These are chemicals that attempt to reverse the damage done by free radicals.

It seems easy to slide on a little lotion every now and then. And that is better than nothing, but to really be successful at keeping your skin healthy, the best tool is to start a beauty routine.

Your Daily Beauty Routine in Three Steps

The key to beautiful skin is consistency. To make sure you are giving your skin the best care, it is best to have a regular routine. This means taking the time for yourself every day.

At its simplest form, a beauty routine consists of three daily steps:

  • Cleanse
  • Tone
  • Moisturize

  • In addition to that you might want to add:

  • Exfoliate
  • Mask Treatments

  • Of course, there are many other products you could add, but the simpler you keep your routine, the more likely you are to stick to it.

    How to Cleanse Your Face

At night, a good cleansing gets rid of those free radicals found in things like smoke and grease that attack your skin all day. During the night, your skin sheds cells. In the morning, cleansing your skin gets rid of these dead skin cells and starts you off fresh giving you a clean base to begin so you can face the world knowing you are at your best.

    • Chose a good cleanser that is gentle to your skin.
    • Use a washcloth or your fingers to gentle wet your face.
    • Apply the cleanser in small, circular strokes.
    • Remove the cleanser with the washcloth or by splashing your face with water.
    • Don’t scrub your face. It could damage your skin.

Toner and Your Skin Care Routine

You may remember using toners to fight acne when you were a teenager. Today’s toners are much more sophisticated.

A toner is used to remove any excess dirt and oil from your skin and prepare it for the next step: moisturizer.

    • Apply toner to a cotton pad.
    • Use the pad to apply the toner to your face using circular motions.
    • Allow to air dry.

Moisturizer is The Final Step in Your Daily Beauty Care Routine

Now that you have worked so hard to get your face clean, you need to add some of that moisture back. A moisturizer captures and seals in moisture on your skin. This is slightly different from a hydrator which uses the water in your cells to plump up your skin and keep the moisture in place.

Whichever product you choose, both keep your skin vibrant and moist.

    • On your clean face, apply a small amount or moisturizer.
    • Use small, circular motions to evenly distribute all over your face, paying particular attention to under your eyes and around the edges to the ears.
    • Gently rub until all the lotion is absorbed.

Other Products In Your Beauty Routine

There are so many other products aimed at keeping you looking your best, they cannot all be listed here. However, there are two products that are beneficial to use at least once a week.

  • Exfoliate
  • Mask Treatments

  • Your skin produces a lot of dead skin cells. If left alone, even with regular cleaning, they can give your skin a dry, dull appearance. Using a gentle exfoliant once or twice a week gives your skin a glow and a luminous appearance.

A mask treatment is like spending 15 minutes in a spa. That is a very short visit, but your skin will thank you. A mask treatment often combines an exfoliant with an intense moisturizer. The skin on your face gets a gentle scrub that opens up your pores to receive the moisture it needs.

When you use an exfoliate, be gentle. Your want to remove the dead skin cells, not a layer of skin.

How to Take Care of Your Skin From The Inside

Skin care doesn’t just begin and end on the outside. Skincare products are meant to enhance and help what you already have. What you eat and what you do has an impact on your skin. When you practice healthy habits, it shows.

So, let’s take a look at some ways to make sure your skin is glowing and healthy from the inside and out.

  • Don’t Smoke
  • Protect Your Skin
  • Watch What You Eat
  • Destress
  • Get Your Beauty Sleep

  • Keeping Your Skin Beautiful: Smoke and Mirrors

Smoking is bad not only for your lungs but for your skin as well. It sucks out the nutrients your skin needs to be healthy and look vibrant.

    • When you smoke, the tiny blood vessels on the surface of your skin contract. As a result, your skin pales and takes on a grey pallor.
    • Those same tiny blood vessels keep your skin supple and provide the collagen and elastin that prevent wrinkles and sagging. When you smoke, your face loses its elasticity and ages your skin beyond your years.
    • Smoking also increases your chances of getting squamous cell skin cancer.

Here’s Comes the Sun: Sunscreen and Healthy Skin

It’s great to feel the sun on your face. Exposure to the sun can give you energy, help fight depression, and provide vitamin D. Unfortunately, the sun can also cause wrinkles and age spots as well as increase your risk of skin cancer.

Keep your skin safe and beautiful.

    • Apply sunscreen every day.
    • Wear protective clothing.
    • Keep your skin hydrated with a good moisturizer.

It’s the Inside The Counts: Eat Well For Beautiful Skin

Eat your fruits and veggies. While the powers that be aren’t exactly sure why, it seems like a diet limited in fat and full of healthy foods like vegetables, fruits, and unprocessed grains keeps your skin healthy-looking and free of acne and blemishes. Eating good foods along with drinking plenty of water, keeps your skin hydrated and firm.

Sleeping Beauty Had a Beauty Care Routine

Sleep is one of those things we know are good for us, but we never seem to get enough. While Sleeping Beauty’s 100 years is a long time for a nap, catching eight hours of sleep each night should be an important part of your beauty routine.

Take a Breather: How Stress Affects Your Skin

When you are stressed, your body produces more cortisol hormones. Cortisol speeds up the production of oils in your skin, causing acne breakouts and making your skin more sensitive.

Identifying and controlling whatever is causing you stress would, of course, be the ideal solution. However, that is not always possible.

    • You can help manage stress through exercise. Something as simple as going for a walk helps you relieve stress.
    • A healthy diet is not only good for your body, but it can be good for your mind as well.
    • Meditation and yoga are classic ways to manage your stress. Concentrating on your breath will help you relax and focus on your inner self.

Beauty care both inside and out is important. You always want to look and feel your best. Knowing how to take care of your skin will lead to better health overall both physical and mental.
